The Town of Matthews is located in Mecklenburg County, about 10 miles southeast of downtown Charlotte.
Matthews covers 17.18 square miles and is comprised of single-family housing and a variety of businesses.
A quaint downtown, attractive neighborhoods, churches, quality schools, and outstanding hospital and medical
facilities make for a full-service community.
The population is approximately 30,934 (estimated 2023).
People feel safe and secure in Matthews. The streets exude small-town charm, and small parks and natural areas dot the community.
The town strives to maintain a healthy balance of quality residential development and compatible commercial development,
making it a desirable place to live.
Due to the high temperatures and the once-a-week garbage collection schedule, the pool area has unfortunately developed an unpleasant odor.
To help maintain a clean and pleasant environment for everyone, please follow the guidelines below if you plan to eat at the pool:
-- Organic Waste
* Please bring your own garbage bag for any food scraps or organic leftovers.
* Take the bag with you when you leave. Do not dispose of food waste in the pool area-s trash cans.
-- Recyclables and Other Trash
* Place empty cans and plastic bottles in the municipal trash containers with the green lid.
* Place all other non-food trash items in the municipal containers with the blue lid.
Please remember: The pool belongs to all residents and is an extension of your home. Let us all use common sense and keep it clean, safe, and enjoyable.
